    Hello,

Over the years (from XP to Win 7 64) my codecs/filters went south...
Nowadays tools like Subtitle Workshop are not showing video anymore.

Is there a way I could "clean" the PC and reinstall a new set of codec/ filters?

    Thanks for your help,

Did Subtitle Workshop ever work for you in Win 7 64? I had to install Subtitle Creator in the XP virtual machine that came with my copy of Win 7 Ultimate as I could not get it to work directly under Win 7. I've had a few other programs that I could only get to work under the XP virtual machine.

    Thanks, guys

When I moved from XP ot 7 64, Subtilte Workshop was fine with AVi or MPG files, not so with MKV ones. I don't know if it was related to the MKV format or the H.264 video (I had audio but no video).

Tried to fix the codec/filters (Codec Tweak, fixes & reset settings), now I only have audio independent of file type. That's why of this post.

I will take a look at Subtitle Creator. A quick test of Easy Subtitles Synchronizer is promising. Easy Subtitle uses VLC and not PC codecs.
