  1. I have a foreign language film in Matroska format that I’ve converted to H.264 video using Xilisoft video converter standard 6. The H.264 video does not have any subtitles.
    There are subtitles with the original file as I’ve converted it with ConvertXtoDVD and the resulting DVD does have the subtitles.

    How do I get Xilisoft video converter to include the subtitles?

    Extract the subs mkvextractgui2 and add in convertxtodvd.

    So Xilisoft video converter is not able to convert the Matroska file and retain the subtitles then?

    Quite a few converters will not read the subs from within the MKV files, but will happily handle them once they have been extracted. A average as Xilisoft is, it is not alone in this particular problem.
