  1. A month or two ago I bought an Osprey 200 capture card to capture home video. I settled on this card after reading various reports on Windows 2000 compatibility of several cards in a similar price range. It appeared that most cards had buggy Win2k drivers.

The Osprey 200 works with Video for Windows, which is an older technology that is well supported in Windows 2000.

After a little bit of tweaking (I had to make sure DMA was on and that the card didn't share an IRQ -- which meant disabling ACPI in Win2k), I was able to capture full 640x480 at 30 fps. It did, on occasion, drop a frame (average about one drop every 2-3 minutes) -- This could have been because I was running a couple of other programs at the time.

I have been very happy with the card.

I just purchased a DV camcorder and needed an IEEE1394 card, so I spent more than I ought to have and got the Matrox RT2500, which has excellent analog capture abilities as well. As a result, I no longer need the Osprey.

I paid a little under $200 for it. It's only barely used. I'd like to get around $150 for it if possible, but am willing to entertain all offers. I'll ship it USPS or UPS Ground for free.

    Anyone interested?

    if so, email scott.osprey4sale@scottnic.com

    Thanks,
    Scott
