A friend provided me with links to the Chinese Blockbuster movie "Curse Of the Golden Flower 2006 1080p", however one is 15GB and the other version is 10GB, both are 1920X816.
How does one tell which has better quality? (naked eyes couldn't really tell the difference) or can I always assume the bigger the file size is always better in quality wise? I only downloaded the 1st part of both versions just to preview.....
Thanks.

You cannot tell from size alone. The bigger one may have a lost of wasted data by using more bit rate than required, or it may be encoded with inferior settings.
The best way to guarantee you are getting the best quality is to buy the bluray instead of downloading an inferior version encoded by some hack.Read my blog here.
