I'm using Sony Vegas 7.0a to make a 30-min movie in 1280x720x60fps. So far I have reached 2min 45s, and am trying to put a 16mb 23500x2638pixel photograph on the timeline. The program accepts the photo but on the timeline it appears as a solid red block. When I open event pan/crop to zoom in etc, it's just a grey page.

I've used large photos (they're stitched) in my Vegas projects before, without problems. I have reduced dynamic preview ram to 32mb.

    Win7 Ultimate (real not virtual)
    Macbook Pro 2Ghz 4GB

I need to see the photo because I need to zoom in on it and pan around....

    Any ideas ?

PS According to my intenet searches Vegas 9 has the same issue...

Rename the source still. Do it right there in the media bin by right clicking.

Renaming didn't work - but PNG did !!!

Odd though - the JPG is 16MB but the PNG is 77MB yet it works and the JPG doesn't......

Update....the PNG did NOT work when it came to render.....but it did if the short sequence that contained it was rendered separately (ie a totally separate project). So I split the main project into smaller chunks, rendered them lossless, then stitched them together in a new meta-project. Worked fine
