  1. I wanted to edit (normalize, fix EQ, etc.) the audio on a DVD track.

I demuxed my DVD-compliant mpg file into .m2v and .ac3 files. Then, I converted the .ac3 file to .wav and made the edits using Goldwave.

Now I'm stuck. I believe I want to re-encode the .wav to .ac3 and remux- but I'm really not sure how.

Can anyone suggest the best steps to do next? I do have access to some older TMPGenc tools but otherwise, free tools would be best. Thanks.

  2. To make AC3 from the WAV, use Aften and one of its GUIs, or eac3to and one of its GUIs. To mux the video and the audio for DVD, author with Muxman.

  3. Thanks... I realized that I could also use WinFF / ffmpeg (which I already had installed) to encode audio files to ac3. Before, I thought it was used for video only... although it seems Aften is more updated.
