Hello, i just need some good software to rip a retail movie DVD to a (perferably 700MB) file, i don't care if its XviD AVI, MP4, MKV, i just want the best i can squeeze outa 700mb file. I'd love some help, ive tried handbrake.. i use x264 and MKV with 2 pass and turbo first pass.. the video came out completely glitchy and messed up :/

You can't have fast and good and squeeze it into a 700 mb file.

I second staxrip. Do a two pass encode to H264 with a bitrate around 1500 kbps. It will probably double your 700MB target, but it will at least be watchable.

I like Freemake, but it's lack of a cropping option means DVD conversion of anything not 4:3 or 16:9 is less than optimal.
