  1. I have a lot of clips of motorcycling that I captured a few years back. They are uncompressed and in AVI format. YUY2 YUV packed 4:2:2. I can view them fine in kmplayer or any other player.

When I try to compress them using MS expression encoder, they just give a blank black screen with the audio. In Gspot i get this error showing:

Bad chunk in frame data: Invalid length
    · Chunk: /RIFF:AVI
    · Offset: 0x3efefff2
    · Value:0x46464952
    Multipart OpenDML AVI (2 parts)
(6750 frames in first part, 2670 frames follow)

Some of the clips that were captured in YVU9 have correct length and compress no problem.

Is there a software that can fix this minor error so I can have them compressed.

  2. Oh forgot to mention, When I run a compressor like xilisoft and try to compress to wmv, it works fine. It compresses but I need to use expression encoder to use it pre-processing features such as crop.

  3. Try a simple remux with AviDemux or VirtualDub.

  4. Jagbo. I tried the AVIdemux. When I resave the file using the program, the resulting file comes without error. Thank you very much. This is great. Actually what a nice little program.
