.avi dvdrip to vcd best way to convert help plz

i got a .avi dvdrip and i wanna convert to vcd i have both virtualdub and tmpgenc installed the file is in a resolution of 576x240 if i select standard videocd tempalate the resolution changes to 352x240 is this the correct way or do i have to use the unlock.mcf and keep the aspect ratio to 576x240? also it plays at 23.976fps so do i select ntsc.film tempalate when converting to vcd ? all info much appreciated

use the vcd template and dont change anything if you want it to be a vcd.
