  1. I've noticed that when I put my PC on sleep mode, I get a really strange noise coming from inside the unit.

    It also happened a while ago when I turned my PC off.

    Any idea what might be wrong?

    a description of the noise might be in order?? and it continued even after all the power had been shut off? for how long?

    Might be a bad fan where the bearings make noise as it spins down. Open the side cover and see if you can tell where it's coming from. And a better description of the 'noise' would help. Is it a high pitched squeak, a rattling, etc.?

    Sleep mode generally turns off all fans, including the power supply fan most times. Your hard drive may also run a few seconds to store info before sleep mode. You can watch your front panel HDD light to see if it's doing that. It's also possible, though not likely, that your MB speaker is putting out a beep before sleep mode.
