Our country has the PAL broadcast standard which I believe is 768x576. I have an old CRT which is of course 4:3 aspect ratio.
If I get a widescreen LCD (like Sony Bravia BX 300 22inch) which has a resolution of 1366x768 and 16:9 ratio, what will all the channels look like?
Would they be stretched horizontally or vertically?
Or would they have blank bars on the left and right?

Black bars on left right of course. But you can probably also choose to zoom or stretch it to fill the screen in the TV settings.
