I want to make a time-lapse video that consists of me writing the words to a song as the song plays, with the video of me drawing in sync with the words being sung. I've done some research on audio-to-video syncing using Quicktime Pro and VirtualDub, but it seems that the syncing has more to do with matching the lengths of the video and audio, and I would need the video to match the tempo of the song's melody. Before I spend any time and money on programs, I'd like to know if it is possible to do what I just described, or if I can only sync the lengths of the video and audio.

Vegas Pro could do it using keyframes with velocity envelopes with splined motion. You would tape it live scene by scene, then tweak the motion velocity with the velocity envelope to match the beat
Some simple examples

Thanks for the reply! Is there a possibility of any freeware programs being available?
