    Hi, newbie here.
    I am using a mac pro quad-core 2010.
My FCP application is loaded on my main start up drive. My second bay is being used as a back-up disc.. I have installed a new- 1 tb hard drive in my 3rd bay (for video/media storage). With HDV footage captured to this new hard drive, can I edit with finial Cut Pro installed on my main drive without any problems. Can FCP access/link the HDV files located on the third Bay hard drive? Or do I need to install the FCP application on this third hard drive to make things flow correctly (if that is possible)? Thanks feeder

Yes this is where video files belong. When possible keep video file off the OS drive. Keep the applications on the OSX drive.
