By search, I saw a large size of video file can be compressed to low size before upload for sharing/sending. Is it an effective method to send and share a large size of .MTS video file? If so, can you recommend good compression tool to easily compress video file for sending or upload and decompress it after download. Thank you.

Compression means quality loss....but then again you should know that by now.

Is it possible the OP is talking about 7z type of compression (lossless) ? Not sure if he'll gain much there.
If the file is that big, perhaps the best way to distribute is to create a torrent.

He will not. One of the last steps of MPEG compression is huffman encoding. So, the video is already compressed with an algorithm much like 7z would use. The MTS container overhead will compress a little so his files may shrink by a few percent.
