  1. I have a canon ixus100 whixh can take 720-video. in the settings one can choose NTSC or PAL. As I am in Europe I have PAL.
I tried both and took a small testfilm. Why are both films 30fps? I thought PAL had 25fps?

I've downloaded the manual for the 'IXUS 100is'. In the specifications section at the end it lists 3 recording modes - all 30fps:
    1280x720 30fps
    640x480 30fps
    320x240 30fps

The NTSC/PAL option is probably for the 'video out' socket - when plugging your camera directly into your TV. It doesn't look like it's possible to change the actual frame-rate for videos.

  6. Yes it must be Video out. That also explains why the camera does not give a good quality on dvd. I have to convert to 25fps as in PAL and then it is much better.
