I'm using Staxrip to shrink MKV files ripped with DVDfab. I rip blu-ray titles with Dvdfab and the file is between 15 & 30 GB. I'm susing staxrip to shrink the file using constant quality. I see other users have a fps of 11 or better and mine averages about 3.5 to 4 fps. I have a Gtx 260 GPU and 4 gb Ram in my HP pavillion a6400f. E2200 CPU. 500 Gb Hard Drive. Help please, I need to speed up this process even if i need to buy new hardware.

Anandtech has a good CPU comparison/benchmark for video encoding, like x264/h264 encoding http://www.anandtech.com/bench/CPU/53 .
