    Hey
I've got an MKV file with softsubs in it, but I want to convert it to AVI WITH the subs and the original fonts so I can watch it on my television.
I've already tried to extract the subs manually into an .ass file with Aegisub, then converted the MKV to AVI through AVS Video Converter and after that put the subs in it. Sometimes the subs do show up (fonts lost, just plain text) but most of the time they don't.

Does anyone know how to convert it into AVI (hardsubbed) and keep the fonts as they look like in the mkv?
    Thanks in advance...

You have to adjust font settings manually, no software will do that automatically. You can do that with for example avidemux (under filters->subtitle).
