    Hi,
I am working in Vegas 9, and when I save my video-clips, they cannot be opened by somebody using Vegas 7 (incompatible format). Is it possible to save in Vegas 9 in an older format, to overcome this incompatibility? I haven't been able to figure out how.

    Many thanks!

Are you talking about video clips that have been rendered, or the vegas project file which has been saved ?

If it is the former then you just have to find a video format that both are happy with - for standard definition you might try DV AVI.

If you are talking about project files (8.veg files) then Vegas does not support backwards compatibility. It does have a couple of alternative formats, such as .AAF, however I suspect that these do not keep the details of any effects/filters added or processing done, just details of cuts and timing. If the two of you want to share the editing then you will have to be on the same version.
