    Hello,
    I recently downloaded a cartoon for my son which is in avi format. But I guess there is also a vp6 codec (which Im not familiar with) needed to play it. I downloaded the vp6 codec and can only play using windows media player (normally I would never use this). The problem is I dont want to play this on the computer, I want to burn it as an avi to disc, to watch on my DVD player. The problem is I cant find any program that will convert it. any suggestions? here is a log from mediainfo:

    Try convert to avi xvid with xmedia recode or winff.

  3. Note that many conversion programs use Windows VFW codecs (VirtualDub, for example) not the DirectShow codecs used by media players. So you may need a VFW VP6 decoder. If so, ffdshow includes one.
