  1. Dear all

I'm trying to convert a short video with Avidemux 2.5.4 from a mp4 container to a mkv container (save space by reencoding it). However, this video, like many others I've done (and faced the same problem), causes a delay in the end converted video (delay of around 400 ms, but varies throughout the video).

Any ideas why this is so? Could it be the fault of 3gp4?

I'm using the settings X264 for video and copy for audio in a mkv container. I've attached the media information for the original video below:
    Code:

    Frame rate mode : Variable
    Frame rate : 15.264 fps

is probably the cause. But try xmedia recode.

  3. Does it mean that avidemux cannot support variable frame rates? I captured these videos with my android phone, and it sucks to have to convert and get audio sync issues when the source file is perfectly fine (some videos screw up, some don't which is kind of weird!)

Perhaps try the Avidemux proxy. Possibly directshowsource with Haali's directshowsource2 selected.
Needs a few plugins in the Avisynth folder, but it's detailed here:

  5. Hi,
I am experiencing a similar problem. I want to take a m2ts file (VFR, ~25Gb) and mux it with an eight channel wav file (~8Gb) and then recode it to H264 Baseline Profile.

All the programs I have tried either:
    1) Crash
    2) Cannot handle WAV-files greather than 4Gb
    3) Creates an output where audio and the movie is in sync in the beginning of the movie but almost two minutes out of sync in the end (the movie is about 1:53 hours long). I had this problem with MeGUI and AVISynth. I tried changefps, assumefps but did not find a solution. The output video always became 1:55 hours long but the audio remained 1:53 hours. I also looked at:
    http://avisynth.org/mediawiki/VFR
    4) Cannot handle eight channel output. Allthough some programs could not handle 7.1 audio, I still tried making the video conversion but the video typically became "jumpy" like some frames where missing or the frame rate was very low.

Can someone tell me what program I should use/how I can do the conversion without the mentioned artifacts?

    /Kim
