  1. Hi, Im a simple bog standard when it comes to burning avi files to disc to play on a normal TV, so what format do I convert onto the DVD disc so it wil play from normal DVD player to a TV - I now have freestudio suite which can use PAL format but I never tried that yet & I understand that PAL is the colour, Im confused, so if I burn to PAL format does that mean it will play from the DVD to TV? I am in UK so whatever DVD players here play is what I want
    Thanks

Normal DVD is MPeg2 with AC3 or mp2 audio. See specs here https://www.videohelp.com/dvd

Many DVD players support additional formats like divx/xvid. Check your DVD player manual.

Only MPeg2 720x480, 720x576 + others in the detailed link above.

Your DVD player manual will list any other supported formats.
