If you want it to work on most players make a standard dvd-video, https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/all-in-one-dvd-converters .

  3. Xvid is not a valid codec for DVD. Mpeg 1 (with restrictions) is.

  4. Hi Baldrick,

Thanks for your reply, I should have said "Which file format"

We had before both, mpeg and xvid, and a day we removed the xvid & mpeg1, some customers has complained .. We have re-installed the xvid, and now some complaints again. So before removing the xvid and to put back the mpeg1, I would like to make sure we're on the good direction

    Regards

    What exactly are you doing?

MPEg1 files will play on most computers without codecs. But not all standalone dvd players(if it's a data dvd).

  6. We have an online product that customer can watch movies, in different format.

I know some dvd player cannot read file at all, I'm not talking about these ones, but more about those who play files

    Thanks again !

  7. In my experience, more will play MPEG 1 files with VCD specs than will play Xvid AVI.
