Hi, im thinking of buying a scientific atlanta cable box 8300 on ebay but i need to clone my explorer 2000 mac address to my new box because i heard hear that if i get one on ebay it would be recognized by mine cable company !

Your best bet would be to contact you cable provider to see if they will allow you to do this and help you to set it up. If they don't allow the use of devices purchased from third parties, what you are attempting is probably illegal, and a violation of your service agreement. FYI most of the US cable boxes sold on eBay still belong to the cable company that issued them, not the party selling them, and are not a wise purchase.
