  1. Just occasionally do I have to do this. So far its only been AVI files and what I do is:
    Use Xilisoft to convert the AVI to MP3
    Use MP3Gain to adjust the volume of the MP3
    Use VirtualDubMod to put the new MP3 onto the original AVI.

    But is there a better way? Or a program that can handle other file types?

  2. I didn't realise VDub and AviD had those functions. I suspect they won't do it for all file types but many thanks.
