  1. hi im after DVD region hack for Samsung HT-C450/XEU i have searched the internet & not found any. i also have a Samsung BD-C5300 which i have successfully made region free on the DVD side of things however i now need to know how to make the Blu Ray side of things region free.

    any help would be great.

    thanks in advance.

ps can someone please let me know either way if either of these models can be hacked.

It's almost miraculous that you made your Samsung player region free just for DVD playing. You must live in Australia. Samsung models sold in North America cannot be hacked. I've only heard of the BD player hack working on models sold in Australia. You can't make any Samsung player region free for BluRay playback. Sorry. The only BD player I've heard of that doesn't require a hardware mod to be region free for BluRay playback is (I think) Insignia.

There's no harm in asking about codes as the odd request like yours (looked on the internet and can't find any codes) does get an answer that works, but the majority of times you can't find a code it's because there isn't one.

Don't know if this unit is available in the UK but you might want to return the Samsung and get one of these:

or if you stick with Samsung:

Here's the reality of the situation when looking for BluRay players that are region free for DVD and BluRay playback. There are only a mere handful of such players so you pick which one out of the small list you want that best meets your needs. If it misses features that you want that other non-region free players have, that is too bad. You do not pick your player first and then just assume you can make it region free.

Some years ago there were shops in the UK that did mods for just about any DVD player to make it region free via hardware. I found this company which does some BluRay player mods, but your players are not listed.

Their phone number is in Sweden. I have no experience dealing with them. I suppose you could ask them if they could possibly do a custom mod for you, but I'll warn you that the cost is likely to be a lot more than you expect (I would guess at least 60 pounds) and you may wish you had just bought a region free player to begin with as that would have been cheaper than paying shipping and hardware costs to mod your players - if it can be done at all.

  9. to be honest with you mate i was more bothered about it playing DVDs from every region & i knew that it was able to before i brought it. im not that bothered about it playing Blu Rays from every region although it would be nice, if it cant be done then fair enough its not really a big issue for me
