I have a 9500GT on a Gigabyte NF750-G55 motherboard. I am using a DVI to HDMI cable to hook it up to my Emerson 32" tv. While the video quality is great, I can't seem to get the audio working. The motherboard comes with the Realtek HD Audio Manager, and using that I can see that it recognizes and is (attempting to) output audio via HDMI. However, I get nothing on the TV end.
Any idea what might be the issue?
EDIT: Also, is this the correct place for this post? I had to choose between HDMI, Audio, Media Center, and PC.

Oh okay thank you. Well what if I used the HDMI out on my motherboard? I assume that would have sound, but then wouldn't I lose the processing power of the video card gaming-wise? And then what does this mean? I grabbed this from the GeForce specs page for the 9500 GT: "Audio Input for HDMI: SPDIF"
EDIT: I might just commit to upgrading my video card. Is there any card in particular you would recommend?Last edited by daspaz1; 22nd Feb 2011 at 14:05.

Hmm this seems to solve the problem without needing a separate input to my TV: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/How-to-Use-The-SPDIF-Connector-Available-on-GeF...eo-Cards/600/2
That would solve the problem, no? -
Your 9500GT has an HDMI out? Most don't.
DVI-I does not support audio.
If you use the motherboard HDMI, performance will depend on the motherboard video chipset.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Dvi can carry audio to hdmi if your video card supports spdif input connections and your computer audio has spdif outputs,i did this with my 260gtx,you can do this with the 9500gt.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
The NVidia 200 series GTX and ATI 3xxx cards added SPDIF audio inputs and audio encoding to HDMI. Some say when DVI-I to HDMI is used, a proprietary adapter is needed to pass audio. The original NVidia 9xxx cards didn't support audio. Maybe the newer ones do. Look for an audio input connector.

I'm probably just going to find a cheap 220 and replace my 9500. It's my biggest choke gaming-wise, and it solves this issue.
