My friend has all his audio and video on two PCs, a laptop and a couple of WD MyBooks. He has a wired router now but he wants to use a wireless router to network and play all his files on the TV in the living room. He doesn't want to run long cables to the living room. He has a 1st gen WDTV but wants to get something with networking.
He is thinking about buying this NETGEAR WNR3500L and NETGEAR WNCE2001 Wireless adapter at newegg as a combo deal for $117.57.

Which router is better, the NETGEAR WNR3500L that he is looking at or the NETGEAR WNDR3400-100NAS with 600 Mbps data transfer rates? The WNDR3400 is the same price as the WNR3500L.

Any recommendations on what to use to play his media on his TV? He wants to be able to watch Netflix and youtube. I mentioned the Western Digital WD TV Live Plus HD Media Player but he is thinking about getting a PS3. He doesn't play games but said that he can use the bluray player and netflix and maybe learn how to play games.
Any thoughts or recommendations? Maybe drawings showing how to set everything up?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!
