  1. Hi-

I recently installed VDub. Great program. How do you get existing codecs, in my case Divx, to show up in the compression window? It is installed on my system and I'm on a Win7/64b system if that makes any difference.

    Thanks,
    Mark

  2. If you are using 64 bit VirtualDub you need to install 64 bit codecs. If you use 32 bit VirtualDub you need to install 32 bit codecs. The two systems are separate. You need VFW codecs for VirtualDub. There's really no advantage in using the 64 bit version of VirtualDub. It has more bugs and there are fewer 64 bit filters and codecs available for it.

  3. Thanks, jagabo.
I just downloaded the 32bit version and everything showed up just fine.
BTW, what's you opinion of Avidemux? I saw somewhere in my travels that they liked it better than VDub. i have no experience with it, yet
