when do we need 3D enabled TV?
do we need 3D enabled player/receiver AND 3d enabled TV to watch 3d ?

    how about just a 3D bluray player + 120Hz TV ?

so confused, is there a primer on 3D combinations/requirements ?

    thanks

This has been talked about on an earlier thread: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/331006-Does-120hz-mean-a-tv-is-3d-ready-for-a-ps3-o...e-nvidia-cards.

To watch in Stereo3D, you need:

    1. TRUE Stereo3D content (this part can't be emphasized enough)
    2. A Stereo3D source/player, running in Stereo3D mode (BD3D, PS3, 3DHTPC, 3D Cable/Sat)
    3. A Stereo3D display, certified is better. If it isn't HDMI 1.4a/SIE compliant, it won't adjust it's settings "automatically", so you'll end up having to do a number of manual adjustments to the display to get correct 3D (if at all). That's the current state of 3D HTPC's & 3D Cable/Sat boxes interfacing w/TVs.
    4. Stereo3D glasses that work correctly with #3 above (usually the same brand/maker).
    5. 2 good eyes & binocular vision.
