I've been using SVCD2DVD for a number of years now without a problem.
Lately when I have used it the finished video is in a small box in the middle of the screen when I play the output.
Is there something I need to change?

I experimented further and uninstalled the latest version then installed the previous 2 versions (uninstalling one before installing the other of course).
The results are still the same. I am using Windows XP SP3.
What is it that determines the output size of the finished image ?
It looks from the log (if I'm reading it correctly) that the output image sizes are 720 x 304.

I have never needed to use anything but the default settings before now.
Is this something to do with the latest version of SVCD2DVD?
Should installing old versions have sorted it? (or are there settings in the registry that are never overwritten?)
How do I get it back to a decent output image size?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -
It appears to be resulting from the dimensions of the input file. Does the original file display properly? What player are you using to view the finished files? Is this the only file with problems or is it a consistent error? Can you attach your log file for this run?

Original files are .mkv and they all display properly in Vlc player.
I then used SVCD2DVD to put them onto 1 DVD and the resulting files didn't display properly (again in VLC).
They also didn't display properly on my TV when played through my DVD player.
On my first try they were in a box i the middle of the screen and couldn't be re-sized.
I have since tried everything I could think of and installed all codecs I could find.
Still no success.
I have downloaded WinFF and I am encoding the files outside of SVCD2DVD (to Mpeg using the setting - PAL DVD HQ Widescree. This has gave me some small success. The display is bigger and can be re-sized (both in VLC and on my TV) however the aspect ratio now looks a bit off...!
I would like to get back to how it used to be. Where I just
- Added the Assets,
- Tweaked the Menu and then
- Created the DVD
I have attached a number of log files of attempts I have made.
Why is this happening?
How can I get back to how it was?
Thanks for your help. -
Looking at the first log it looks like you are putting 3hours 40 mins on the DVD. SVCD2DVD will use Half-D1 resolution in such cases (as the bitrate for encoding needs to be low due to the duration). It makes for less blocky output.
Solution? Well reduce the duration of the assets you add (in the case of 2 x 1h50min i would add only one) OR tweak the bitrate threshold which the program uses to change to Half-D1 resolution.
Look here for how to do it: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/230729-SVCD2DVD-letterboxing-widescreen-clips?highl...LLD1BITRATEMIN
(Note that the registry position is for the older 2.0 version of S2D, adjust accordingly. )SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Thanks.
I will try it with only one of these movie files and report back with the results.

I tried it with only one of the files and it worked.
I will have to remember not to try and fit too much on one DVD in future.
Thanks for your help.
