    I have two main placed I wan tto watch my home recorded HD video, the iPad and my PS3 (via PS3MS). I'm looking for the best resolution output that both of them can play without any extra transcoding. Any tips?

    I believe the iPad has been knobbled to 720p max, so 1280 X 720 would be the highest resolution that would work on both. Use the MP4 container and keep the profile to 4.1 or lower (you may have to confirm just how high the iPad can go - it may be limited to a lower profile)
