  1. Hi folks,

i've a problem with this program.
My goal is to cut a scene out of a mpeg-1 coded video file.
With VDM that is not possible, so i need to recompress the chunk.
I have the Cole2k-Codec Pack installed. Problem is, none of these codecs are in the list of available codecs, when i have to choose the codec i like the chunk to be recompressed with.

I tried to install the divx and xvid codecs. While they are displayed in the list of available codecs, they doesn't work. On both accounts i get error messages. Whe i try xvid, i get "Statfile not found" and with Divx i get another error message.

Anything you can do to help?

    Thank you.

"Statfile not found" means you are doing 2-pass encoding and not have encoded the first. Just change to one-pass or constant quality encoding. Select xvid and click on settings in virtualdubmod.

  4. If all you want to do is cut out a piece of the MPEG, use MPEG2Cut2.
