Gave it a try but after installation it still wants a serial number, so this just probably just a free download and not a free product.

is this legit or not? I'm grateful for the serials posted but if they're not generic free ones, i'm uninstalling. Newegg forum is currently down so i can't get any more info from there.

    Thanks,

  9. No serial was required when I installed the software, just an email address.

After installation I checked the codec settings and it said the pro version of the codec was registered.

  10. Just a joke from past experience in the field of software...
(nothing to do with DiVX, or any particular software)

When Japanese says its' FREE, but only for limited time!
when German says it's FREE, it might be too old version, next to out-dated, or buggy.
when Russian saya it's FREE, it might be bundled with malware.
when East Asian says it's FREE, it might be real crap.
when Middle-East says it's FREE, it's professional version with serial number.
When European says it's FREE, it is REAL free, no serial needed to register.
when North American says it's FREE, it is Gimmick coz software is FREE, only you need to buy is serial number.

    Same here everything shows registered.

I got the free divx pro a few years ago during a Christmas giveaway but it didn't include the Divx converter.

    btw) On a side note:
I changed the default install path because I wanted installed someplace else.
I gave a little used hotmail email and blocked internet access to the internet with ZA in case there were issues. So far they haven't sent any messages to that address even though I checked to send promo stuff.
Also, I saw no option to check or un-check Norton or any mention of Norton unless you mean those who have Norton installed. I have avast and there were no complaints.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
