I've recorded a clip with a camcorder and an audio track with a computer which is wired up to a lapel mic. now i need to combine and sync the audio and video.
the video is mp2 (old camcorder) and the audio can be any format (I used audacity).

What you could try is to mux the audio and video together, keeping the original files intact, then play the muxed file in MPC( HC). You can adjust the audio offset there. Once you get the sync right, note down the audio offset, then add that to the file and check it. If it's correct, save out the files as a direct stream copy, no encoding. I do this with VirtualDub, but for MP2, AVIDemux may be a better choice.
