I have never seen or heard of a movie file with the .exp suffix. What makes you think it is a movie file? Where did you get it (online or from some app)? What size is it?
If you can, try to get the first ~32 bytes in hexdump. Usually files of a certain kind start with the same bytes, which may be a last resort to identify them. (E.g. AVI files start with "RIFF....AVI LIST".)
