  1. It's not a normal video file, it seems to be embeded into flash. I MUST MUST have a PBS video in case the someday take it down. An example of the video is below:
    http://video.pbs.org/video/1294292042/

Any suggestion on what to use? paid or non paid is fine. It is extremely critical I get this video even if I have to pay someone to do it.

    Much appreciated for the help!!!!!!!

  8. StreamTransport didn't work for me until I updated to a newer version. The old one was at least a year old.

  9. Now that I have a weird format of .mp3.vcl, what program can I use to crop the songs from one another and save uniquely? Thanks!

Is Streamtransport supposed to look and act like a browser window?
I mean....must it look like that? It's stupid. I just downloaded this version yesterday and it can't even grab a YouTube video.

Yes, the top part of the program's window is a browser. You use it to go to the page with the video. The bottom part is the list of streams found there. It works fine for Youtube (although, many simpler tools can be used for Youtube videos).

All I get with that "browser is the dreaded "grey box" telling me I need to update/install FLASH.
No thank you. I use Firefox so I don't need to keep updating Adobe Flash every other day. I'm sure as hell
not gonna do it for StreamTransport.

  13. I believe their browser window uses IE. So you would need the IE Flash plugin.

Nobody's trying to force you into using StreamTransport.

I never said anybody was....I'm just trying to find out why people love it so much when, for me, it can't even grab a simple YouTube video. The way people rave about this thing you'd think it swallowed too.

  15. It's the only program I know of that's easy to use and downloads almost everything, including most encrypted streams, and without re-encoding. RtmpDump can download encrypted RTMPE streams but it can be hard to figure out what the URL for the video is.

STILL couldn't grab a simple YouTube video....let alone something more difficult to grab.
UNINSTALLED. Streamtransport is a piece of shit on my computer or from my part of the world....not sure which.

  18. If you are using Firefox, then you could use the Flashgot plugin with the downloader of your choice. Install your downloader, set Flashgot to intercept downloads for the downloader and then play the file you want, right click in the browser window and select 'Flashgot Media'. It will then be downloaded in your chosen downloader.

Try CooJah, with the right settings it should work with every browser.
