    im sure this has been covered just can't find the thread. question is if i have a bluray movie saved on my computer will i need some special codec to view the movie or special bluray media player im sure i'll need some codecs but will i have issues in any other departments(4example special monitor, bigger processor or more ram ect)? i usually watch movies with media player classic home cinema

    You can try http://www.cyberlink.com/prog/bd-support/diagnosis.do and see if your computer is fast enough.

    And if you want menu playback you must use tmt3 or powerdvd, you might have to use dvdfab virtualdrive to mount the blu-ray as blu-ray drive.

    And this is not an authoring issue. Moving you our playback section.

    You can also play one of the .m2ts files directly from the STREAM folder within the BD file with MPCHC (Or VLC). Usually the largest one is the main movie. But for menus, etc., you need a Blu-ray player like TMT3 as Baldrick mentions.
