Is there any software that can this? exiftool does not support writing EXIF in mts.
Thanks!

I've been looking for the same thing. Although it's not the most elegant solution, I was able to use a Hex editor and fix the date in my MTS files.
I learned from Post #4 of this link:
https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/326473-SONY-HDR-XR500E-to-PC?p=2021733&viewfull=1#post2021733
which eventually lead me to this page:
http://hirntier.blogspot.com/2010/02/avchd-timecode-update.html
Then I opened my target file with a Hex editor, searched for the pattern:
0x17 0xee 0x8c 0x60 0xf8 0x4d 0x11 0xd9 0x8c 0xd6 0x08 0x00 0x20 0x0c 0x9a 0x66
Then I worked my way down to tag 0x19, then found the time I needed to adjust.
