I bought the AC Ryan without a wireless adapter. My internet router is downstairs, too awkward to connect an ethernet cable to. However my PC is only about a metre away from where my AC Ryan will be kept.

Is it possible to just connect my PC to the PlayOn with a crossover cable and stream content that way, or do I need to buy another hub?

Yes, you can certainly connect the playon to the PC with a crossover cable, you should have found one in the box. You are intending to stream from playon to what??

There wasn't one in the box, and it isn't listed in the parts list in the manual either. But no matter, they're not too expensive.

I just intend to stream movies from my PC to the Playon connected to my TV.

    Thanks for your help!

At only a meter away, why not connect your PC directly to the TV?
    Have a good one,
