I've been using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 to transcode movies (MOV) prior to DVD authoring in Encore CS4. This is because to transcode after importing the originals into Encore takes literally days. This workflow allows me to split the job to suit myself.
But I just can't find a combination of settings in Media Encoder which doesn't result in a loss of audio in Encore.
This is the one set of Encoder settings I thought would work for sure, but doesn't:
Format: MPEG2-DVD
TV: PAL Widescreen
Field order: Lower
VBR, 2 Pass
Min BR=3, Target BR=3.5, Max BR=4 Mb/s
Audio: PCM 16 bit, 48 kHz
Multiplexer: DVD, VBR
As I said, I've tried different settings and combinations of format, audio, multiplexer, but none works in Encore, i.e. audio plays (video is fine).
Further, when I build the DVD even without audio, the resulting VOBs won't play at all - no video or audio stream!
Can anyone please help me here?
thanks
James
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Does it export video & audio (.m2v and .wav) from AME successfully?
Can you see the .wav in Encore before building the disc ? -
.m2v and .wav are exported separately if I set the Multiplexer to None.
