    Help/Advice - Side Letter Boxing

I have been video editing for a little while now and now matter how hard I look I cant seem to find any answer to my problem.

    Problem Details

    - I load my video and bring it in to AE3/Premier Pro3 for editing.
    - If I simply burn the video file to disc and put it in my DivX DVD Player it will automatically scale correctly however when I convert it to an actual DVD it will not fill the TV screen and ends up letterboxing the sides.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Is the source video 4:3 or 16:9 (or 1:1)? Did you rencode it as 4:3 or 16:9? Maybe, if you're not posting samples, post the MediaInfo information about both the input and output videos.

You've provided next to no details. And side letterboxing is called pillar bars.

Also make sure that the Premiere project is set to the correct aspect ratio, and that it is recognising the aspect ratio of your footage. Sometimes it does not, and therefore gets confused. Finally, make sure you are outputting correctly.
