  1. Hi all,
I am trying hard to find what compression method is used in MPEG2-TS. On a wiki page (link given below) it 'appears' to be h.262 but I am not so sure as the wording is vague.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-2

I also found out that the compression method used in MPEG is DCT and block-based scheme with motion compensation. Does it mean that MPEG2-TS have the same compression method?

On a forum, I found out that typically h.264 is used for compression in MPEG2-TS .
    So which one is it?

    Thanks in advance

  2. MPEG 2 transport streams can contain both h.262 (MPEG 2, part 2) and h.264 (MPEG 4, part 10). And maybe others. MPEG 1, MPEG 4 part 2 (ASP, Divx, Xvid)?

I just muxed an MPEG 1 stream into a M2TS file with TsMuxer. So I guess MPEG 1 is supported.
