  1. Hello all

I am looking for advice on which USB Tuner/Capture Device to get. I need a USB 2.0 tuner that will accept analog connections(because I'm going to use it mostly for VHS transfers), that is capable of capturing a VHS tape at the identical quality of that VHS tape, that will work in both OS X and Windows 7, and that costs (hopefully) in the $60 range. I don't think I will need any digital tuner capability. The EyeTV Hybrid looks nice, but $200 seems steep to me. Any advice is appreciated.

See Elgato. One model there has tuner and analog inputs.

    For capture only (no tuner):
    There's this from Elgato
    http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Video-Capture-Device-White/dp/B0029U2YSA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UT...7876001&sr=8-1

And the EzCAP116, also witout a tuner: http://www.ezcap.tv/
    http://www.amazon.com/EzCAP116-Camcorders-Recorder-Satellite-playstation3/dp/B003YGJLW...1033643&sr=8-1

The EzCAP requires the purchase of VideoGlide software for use with a Mac, which means the two options are closer in price than it seems at first glance

I haven't tried either, but Elgato has a good reputation and is probably worth the extra cost.

I saw nothing with an analog tuner near your price-point.
