    Hi All,

I'm trying to stream video from my laptop to my TV. My laptop has HDMI and VGA ports but my TV only has an S-Video input port.

I have an HDMI cable and thought I would be able to find an HDMI to S-Video adapter without too much trouble but I seem to have been mistaken. I have looked everywhere and am starting to doubt that such a thing exists. I would be willing to buy a VGA to S-Video cable instead but I'm just not sure what the best option is.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm far from be a tech junkie so I'm not even sure if all three of these ports would give me audio and video. I mostly just want to stream video from online into my TV.

    Any help would be great!
    Thanks

    Jenn

You will need a VGA to S-Video converter box simialar to this one.

Expect poor picture performance. Read the user reviews for the converter you are considering. They vary in price from ~$25 to $250. If you want better quality buy a new TV with HDMI in.

HDMI is a digital connection. S-Video is analog. An HDMI to S-video converter would cost more to implement.

hmm - not exactly what I was hoping for....

I specifically bought a computer with the HDMI connection for this purpose. It never occured to me that my HD TV wouldn't also have a port for it.

    Thanks Anyways!

What is your HDTV? If it is HD, it will have more than S-Video inputs. S-Video is standard def analog.
