I just imported some RAW DV (.dv) footage onto my Brothers Mac (Only Computer with Fire Wire port)
I then imported the video into my Sony Vegas Pro program on my computer
The Audio works perfectly
But the Video in the time line does not play back
The files are big
For example, an 18 second clip is 65 megs
How do I rectify this
Running Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 (Build 563)
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

It needs to be DV-AVI (wrapped in AVI container)
You can try mpegstreamclip to re-wrap it (you might need quicktime or quicktime alternative installed) , file=>save as (drop down menu select avi)
or you can use ffmpeg , but it uses command line
e.g.
ffmpeg -i input.dv -vcodec copy -acodec copy output.avi
That filesize is normal for DV -
Hey Poison Death Ray,
Thanks for the quick reply
I was searching through the forums earlier for anyone else who had experienced the same problem as I had.
Turns out its the newest version of Quicktime player that has been causing problems for Sony Vegas and other programs
I uninstalled Quicktime and installed and older version (I think Quicktime 7.5.5)
Now it all works perfectly.
Thanks
Chris
