Am wondering whether DVD slideshow GUI can create a DVD slideshow of pictures for a presentation, rather than a video. I don't want a video which goes through the entire pictures with durations. I prefer it stopping at a picture/slide until I press the next page button or next track button.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can do this?

No, it can't. You don't want an application that produces movie slideshows, just use a presentation application such as Powerpoint. If you want a free alternative, consider using the Impress app which is part of the OpenOffice suite.

Well, DSG can make a DVD where you can go back and forth between slides by using navigation buttons.

You'll need to install GUI for dvdauthor and set up the path for it and in DSG select File -> Export DVD menus.

This with generate a dvd with those one by one menus and a video with chapterpoints - if you don't want the latter two - just delete them in Gui for dvdauthor.
