I do know several methods to download RTMP/etc streams.
But it requires payware, which you've eliminated as being an option.

So you've backed yourself into a corner, unfortunately.

Lord in another forum that my request had legal issues...basically i rented a movie from a website i don't own it, this movie plays on my default media player and i am trying to capture it.

I am now willing to pay cause i don't think i there is a freeware out there. I was told Replay Media Catcher is the move, but i will not purchase it until i know if it will work.

Is a RTMP stream a steam that is played on real player?
