My friend has just given me a number of DVDs that contain a pile of 80s clips. When they were recorded off air, his video capture device captured it all in 16/9 format.
All the videos are 4/3, and are in the right aspect, however they have a black column on both the left and right.
I opened one file in Sony Vegas 9. Then I highlighted the entire film strip, then went to render as, and selected render as mpeg video as DVD PAL. I then ticked the box next to "stretch video to fill output frame size (do not letternbox).
Upon playing encoded video back on 4/3 screen, video still has black bars on top, bottom, left and right.
How do I get 4/3 videos recorded on 16/9 devices back to 4/3 in vegas? So the output video looks like this?
Thanks

Thanks, it worked, and it had a preset template for 4/3 video.
