I am currently using HDTV2MPEG2 to edit out commericals and then Nero Vision (From the Nero 9 Suite) to convert captured OTA HD TS video files to SD DVD. It works and is relatively easy to do but I was wondering if the Nero 9 encoder is considered to give good quality compared to say HCENC which I am use to using. I am not that concerened with speed. Can anyone give their recommendations for a better (quality wise) freeware way to go about it or comment on the Nero Vision encoder?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

two suggestions:
multiavchd
avstodvd
I have used avstodvd for bluray to dvd conversions but it can take ts files. I have used multiavchd just for high def avchd output BUT it can output to standard dvd as well.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
