I have a VOB file ripped from a DVD. When I convert it to an MP4, the beginning of the video, which is around 7 seconds in the VOB file, is shortened to only one or two seconds, while the audio stays the same. The rest of the video plays at normal speed, and the audio remains out of sync. I used AviDemux to cut the original VOB file and re-saved as MPEG-PS, and then saved. Using MeGUI, I indexed the file and then converted using x264.. What may be the issue?

Yep. It's one of those MV DVD's that come with CDs. There's a bunch of VOB files but only one has the music video on it.

My point is.....taking only one VOB is bad news. The VOBs are all linked together with data
and info that you never see....it's part of the DVD Authoring process.
